Privacy and cookies

This page explains what data is processed when you visit Ctrl+IA (https://ctrlialab.com). The site is run by Iván García López (details in the legal notice), who can be reached at contacto@ctrlialab.com.

What the site itself stores

The site has no user accounts, forms or comments. The only things it stores live in your own browser (localStorage):

• ctrlia-game-v1: your XP, the articles you've finished, quizzes and achievements.
• ctrlia-theme: whether you prefer the light or dark theme.

This data never leaves your device and is not sent to any server. You can delete it from the achievements page ("Reset my progress") or by clearing the site's data in your browser. Fonts are served from this same domain, with no calls to external services.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web server, Cloudflare receives technical data from each visit (IP address, browser, requested page) to serve the page and protect it from attacks. More in Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

This site shows or may show Google AdSense ads. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, you'll see a consent message before any personalised advertising loads. It is managed by a Google-certified platform that complies with the IAB Europe Transparency and Consent Framework. You can accept, reject or choose specific purposes. If you reject, you can keep using the site with non-personalised ads or none.

Changing your consent

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time from the privacy link shown by the consent message itself, or by clearing the site's cookies in your browser so it appears again.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, object to and restrict the processing of your data, and to complain to your data protection authority (in Spain, the AEPD). Since this site does not store your data on its servers, in practice these rights are exercised with Google (advertising) and Cloudflare (hosting), using the links above.
